Grey Walls With Wood Floors

We Replaced Our Hardwood Floors
And, we had several ground floor rooms with carpeting. I love the rug in our family room, but it separated the space into "this is the kitchen" and "this is the living room". DECORATION TIP: Anytime you can keep your floor and wall color CONSISTENT across all spaces, your space will feel and look so much bigger! We made a trip to our local NFM and told them what we were looking for:A floor that was gray and brown at the same time. With each golden oak plank they pulled in and out, I felt more giddy inside! Lol. I would suggest that if you are doing a hardwood flooring project like this, you:
hire the floor workers to rip up your old floor and take it away hire the floor workers to move your furniture for you
These 2 things made the project so easy for Mr. Magic and me. And when the new flooring started coming in after 2 days of demoing, I think I screamed. It's our hallway that still needs a new carpet, but nonetheless, the floors are moving. Yes, we put in a rug, but the consistent hardwood made the space so much better! NFM's new rug keeps the living room soft and cozy, but the wood floors keep it so chic! Article coming very soon on the new, shorter roundtable, also from NFM! Lol. I would like to mention that our new floors are shorter than the old ones, which required me to paint the baseboards a bit. I explain everything in this video:
It was a small price to pay for beautiful hardwood floors!!! Blessings,

How To Decorate A Room With Dark Floors
A dark hardwood floor, when paired with light walls, can actually open up the room. When you see rooms with dark floors online, you'll usually see gray and white decor themes and other light neutrals, like tans, creams, and light browns. The contrast between the different colors will make your design effortless; while, if you're going for a two-tone theme, it may be too obvious that you're trying to balance out your dark floors rather than creating a balanced space. Eyes are always drawn to light, so using dark hardwoods in a room will force your eyes to skim over it and up to the walls. If your room has white walls and you want the dark floors themselves to be the focal point, you will need to choose a flooring material with lots of texture, pattern or contrast. Instead of trying to make your dark floors the focal point, you'll probably have better luck including other interesting features in the room so your eyes can rest. Add different colors to your dark floor designWhen you see a room with dark flooring, it's almost always dark parquet.

9 Wall Colors To Consider For Gray Floors
However, if you are unfamiliar with tones and the color wheel, it can be difficult to mix gray floors with appropriate wall colors. How to Choose the Perfect Complementary Color for Your FloorsAssess the shades
When choosing a wall color, keep your floor tone in mind. Warm color tones
Colors like orange, red and yellow go well with the warm undertones of your flooring. When examining warm hues on the color wheel, it may be helpful to consider the colors found in a sunset or sunrise. These colors are frequently used in busy, busy rooms such as kitchens and common living areas. Cool color tones
Blues, greens, and purples are examples of cool hues. As a result, these colors are frequently found in bedrooms and bathrooms. Neutral tones
Neutral tones can be fantastic choices for wall colors, and many of them look great with gray carpeting. If you're a person of color, you might be put off by the idea, but if resale is a consideration, basic wall colors are the way to go. There is also a wide range of colors to choose from, ranging from dazzling whites to darker browns. Resale Considerations
While you should consider your personal preferences when creating your room, you should also consider the market value of the home and how long you will live in your existing home when painting. After all, it doesn't matter how good your gray floors are if potential buyers can only see the paint. After all, you are the one who will see the colors every day. Yes, you can coordinate a gray floor with gray walls. Of course, it's not recommended to use the exact same color unless you want to make a dramatic statement, but this color palette leads to some nice continuity. Use darker grays to create a moody, upscale feel and lighter grays with yellow undertones to create an airy, open feel. Often, light blue walls will make a space look crisp and clean. Use textures instead of colors
Instead of just using colors to create an interesting wall, consider using different textures. Walls that feature brick, wood paneling, or even tile can create unique accent walls that add warmth through their textures. If you use a more monochromatic color palette, subtle colors, like the pink pillow in this image, can also be showcased in ways they might not otherwise. Cream with an Accent of Blue
If you want to be bold, consider painting just one accent wall your favorite color. For example, if you're going for a neutral color for the bedroom walls, it might be fun to paint the wall behind your bed your favorite light blue shade. Also, going from a colorless gray floor to a vibrant wall may seem too drastic. Don't forget you can use your curtains to add color
In addition to the color of your walls, you can also let the floor-to-ceiling curtains carry the color that shows against your wall.
